At Fair Carbon, we understand that the world of carbon markets and coastal restoration is complex and filled with technical language.
That’s why we’ve built a number of resources and tools, aiming to make blue carbon knowledge easy to understand and accessible for anyone interested in learning more.
Whether you are a project developer or a buyer interested in learning how to design a high-quality blue carbon project, check out our Blue Carbon Academy, which provides a step-by-step guide to planning, developing, implementing and monitoring a blue carbon project.
Our courses provide a comprehensive, science-based learning journey designed to make it easy to understand how to create a credible blue carbon project.
Each module is designed to help participants advance on their knowledge from the basics of blue carbon to the planning, development, and monitoring of blue carbon projects. Through these lessons, you will learn how to assess the project’s feasibility, design a viable governance structure for your project, apply for accreditation to a carbon standard, and properly maintain performance and integrity across the project’s lifespan. Resources, tools, and expert guidance explain how to access the carbon markets in order to protect and restore blue carbon ecosystems.
Currently, our guidance is based on the requirements established by two of the leading blue carbon standards, Verra and Plan Vivo.
We encourage you to first browse through our free introductory series, 'Blue Carbon 101' , which provides the basics of blue carbon, as well as essential elements of carbon project development for those with little to no carbon market experience.
